I recently upgraded from the sidekick 2 to the new sidekick 3. However after inputting my simcard in the sidekick3 I noticed that I lost all of my downloads which included games, applications, and ringtones. I was wondering can I get them back or are they just lost forever.

Downloads such as ringtones, games, or applications will not follow your SIM card. That chip is capable of holding very little data, so essentially it's used to hold all of your contact names and numbers.
Most likely, the downloads are lost. They are still on your old phone, but they probably aren't transferable. I doubt t-mobile will give you that credit, but it's worth a try. I worked at Cingular, and we only gave credit for that sort of thing if the phone was defective, not in an upgrade situation.

You might want to try this site, it has some good articles and links to Ringtone providers: http://www.phonefreeringtones.com
