Actually, his name is Narvel Felts. Technically, he's classed as a rockabilly singer although he popped up on the country charts back in the 1970's. He began in the mid-1950's along about the same time as Elvis, Johnny Cash and the others at the Sun Studios in Memphis, but obviously never had the right tunes or charisma.

He continued recording throughout the 1960's for a variety of record labels before finally hitting the charts in the 1970's. (Can't remember the title of his biggest hit - sorry)

The last I heard about him was just a few months ago when he appeared at the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and may have even been inducted into it.

And that's pretty much all I remember!

I have heard of Norvell Phelps, but don't know anything
about him.
