injuries, veterans, terrible pitching staff. Unreliable players. I too am a New York fan and I am sad to see this fall. But, do not worry. We may be down today, but tomorrow, we shall be #1 again and Boston will go back to being the 3rd rate team that they always were.

It just goes to show you that money cannot win a pennant and World Series. Players do!! Committed players, not the many prima donnas on the Yankees and Mets. What incentive is there when players sign long term contracts for huge sums of money? Both the Mets and Yankees try to buy their way to the top. It just does not work. Look at the terrible Yankees!! They are in disarray and are losing ground fast to the high flying Red Sox. And the New York fans, thew worst in all of sports, boo their own players!! Actually, they deserve each other.
Go Red Sox!!

Hey, my fellow Yankee Fan...don't worry...it's only the half way mark of the season...we'll get it together in the 2nd half...I mean look at last night's game...16-6...MAN...we kick some butt!! And A-Rod looks like he's coming out of his slump...I mean...come on a walk off 2 run homer this past Wednesday to beat the Braves and a GRAND SLAM last night to put them on top for good and then to top it off a 2 run homer in the 8th!! I think we'll get in going!!
Has for my Rangers and Knicks...don't know, man, I'm worried about them...even though I'm not a big basketball fan...if the Knicks play I'm watching it...come on...their from New York baby!

I don't know what the deal is, but it is great to see the Mets having such a good season. I never have been much for the Yankees...I believe they buy their championships, so it is good to see some evidence that maybe there is more to winning than having the most money.

Maybe it doesn't work with the highest paid players playing together. Certainally injuries dont help. My dodgers have had a few seasons with one of the highest payrolls in baseball but have only 1 playoff win in that time.

It's like the old saying goes, money doesn't always buy happiness. In this case, money doesn't necessarily buy a championship. The key to team success always comes down to chemistry, how individuals will play together. Just because the names look great on paper doesn't mean it'll translate to W's.

you can pay for talent but their big egos get in the way so they never become a team.
