i think the next captains would be either the Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, or Chelsea defender John Terry. .Both of them are captains for their Premier League clubs. also Beckham said it was probably going to be one of them.

As a Scot, I reckon that Big John Terry would be an ideal candidate for the next Captain of England.
He has a presence on the field and I'm sure he would get the best out of all the other players.
He has already done a great job for Chelsea and would Roar at players, motivate and lead by example unlike Beckham who is like a wee mouse, and is past his best and as for leading by example FORGET IT.
Put it this way not too many of them would argue with Big JT

The obvious and logical choice is Gary Neville. A captain should be a leader of men and at 32 he is mature without being too old. Younger players would respect him and unlike Beckham he is not afraid of confrontation.
But as Im a Scot, thats another vote for crouchy then!

John Terry, he shouts the most.
I've always believed a team captain needs to be voiciferous.

The next captain shouldn't be John Terry simply because Graham Taylor thinks it should be and he was one of the few managers that was even worse than Sven. He can't be right can he? It makes sense but I can't remember Graham Taylor ever getting anything right.

John Terry, he is a great organiser of men. Let Gerrard and Lampard concentrate on winning.

John Terry, because he is already a leader on the team, and an incredible player.
