Every women is different. I would talk to your doctor about it if you are really concerned.
I have been taking reclipsen birth control pills (the brand name is desogen) for about 5 years now. I have not gained ANY weight, but that doesn't mean you won't either. There are a lot of birth control tablets out there, talk to your doctor about it.

Ask your doctor about Yazmin it contains drospirenone which acts just like natural progesterone.
And indeed some contraceptive pills can make you gain weight, this happens with some, but it depends, every woman is different. This happen sometimes after 1 year of taking the pill, the reason is that the energy your body uses or burn while you're not doing any physical activity may diminish --Basal energy expenditure-- because you're not ovulating and so that energy is saved as fat weight.
But remember with all the new medicines this is not such common nowadays.

Actually, the whole weight gain because of birth control is a myth....you can take any kind of birth control and not gain weight. Talk to your OB/GYN and he/she can recommend the best kind for you.

You must not get birth control advised by someone on the internet. You must only take medication under medical supervision. What works on others might have bad effects on you.
