I have the same coloring except my eyes are greenish gold. I am pretty good with make up also. (my friends all had me teach them how to do theirs and if they have something special I do their make up, like weddings and black tie parties) I tend to stick with very natural colors. Light colors on the brow bone and inside corners of lower lid. In the crease I use a darker brown with golden tones or a dirty purple with golden tones (like Trax by MAC). Always blend your eyeshadow afterward. I blend mine with my blush brush after I use my blush. That way all of my make up has the same kind of tone to it. It blends well. I hope that works for you. It works well for me and we sound like we have the same coloring. The purple I mentioned really makes your eyes pop. I line with a brown/black and if I am using purple that day I mix a tiny bit in with my eyeliner. It looks better that way, more uniform. I could go on forever with great tricks, but I think this is what you really need for basic every day wear. Best of luck!

Since you are tanned and have hazel eyes I would suggest using some of the gold, but not too much as too much yellow makes a person look yellow. I would also suggest greens, more natural looking greens like olive tones. You do not want a really dark one or a too trendy one that is not a natural shade. You can also get some purples, pinks and blues. Be careful with the blues, you do not want to look like you walked out of an 80's show! :)

Stay away from too many goldish browns because you have similar eye colour your best bet would be to go for greens this will bring out the colour of your eyes, green eyeshadow always compliments brown and hazel eyes, or even if adventurous try a light shade of pink, another colour that brings out hazel, and brown eyes is grey eye shadow, this makes hazel and brown eyes look sultry.

I hope this is of some help to you.
