okay last spring was tryouts for cheerleading i was really nervous but i didnt do really badly or really well either. So the coach made it so i would practice and not perform until i wasn't so nervous and such. I was supposed to go to camp and i couldn't camp was for like 7 hours in 3 days. From what they told me they learned a lot. I have 2 months to get in shape until practices start and 4 months till basketball season. Which means I will only have 2 months of practices to learn everything!

Any advice? Maybe to increase flexibility, muscles, and such. I really need it.

To increase flexibility stretch everyday or every second day! If your only stretching every second day make sure you stretch really good. Like 10-20 minutes. Just do it while you watch tv or something, It's no big deal.

For muscles, work your abs and legs! Also, do push-ups. Running is great for everything and it will increase your stamina so you are not panting and about to pass out during the routine.

Definately work on your jumps and they will improve.

Just eat healthy, stretch, excercise and practice and you will be fine. :)

In 2 months you can't learn everything. If your planning on learning a round off bhs ( back hand spring ) then good luck cause it took me awhile to learn that but you might be different. My advice for flexibility is stretch your splits everyday & strech out your bridges this will help your back walk overs and bhs. Also stretch for 15 minutes while your watching t.v too; My cheer coach always told us to do that; Stretching everyday will also help jumps. Since you only have two months I suggest you get working on everything quick! Well I hope my advice helps you and good luck!! :)

hey girl! i recommend you do yoga because it helps improve balance as well as muscle! it will also help your flexibility. pilates is also good...(and hard haha)

if you don't feel like having such a huge list of things to do though, just do regular things...like cardio--run for 20 minutes

basics like jumping jacks, sit ups and crunches(on a fitness ball is best)...

maybe even ballet would be good to help w/ flexibility, balance and strength..if you have the time...that would be an AWESOME way to work out and have fun at the same time!

See if you can find a "gymnastics for Cheerleaders" program nearby. That will help you with flexibility...and you'll learn how to do the backhandsprings and tucks. It worked for me. :)

Also, see if you can get some of the girls together who DID go to camp. Then they can teach you the things they learned. I'm sure they want to stay in shape so they'll look good too.

Good luck to you!

to increse your flexability, you should streach every day a lot, work out. what i did was pull the pillows out of my couch and put them on the floor and work on making my flips perfect and then you will do better when it comes time to show how well you can do them. it really works!!
