Why has cell phones being released gone down lately?

There was this huge burst of all these phones coming out. Razr Pebl and Slivr and all that crap in like the span of a few months, now there's nothing coming out anymore..what gives?

Well, the LG CU500 for Cingular is coming out, and that's exciting.

It has HSDPA=highest data speeds!
