Is it horrible, continuous, infuriating, driving you mad? I had a cheap Dell that did that - only way to fix it was to replace the hard drive.

Identify where that is, then give it a good thorough listen all round. If you don't like technological answers then no doubt you are a medical doctor and have access to a stethoscope. Use that. If it sounds like it's the hard drive, it is the hard drive.

Get a pro to swap the drive - you will need your old drive "ghosted" onto the new one so you don't have to set the whole thing up from scratch.

Ususally a noise is the fan, if that cools the computer, I know that I have gotten a fan that wasnt set prperly, and was knicking somehting, which irrated me for so long, that I finally opened it up and fixed it. It could be a cheap fan that is just really loud, also, the CD-ROM drive can be a little noisey.

I don't believe that there is anything you can do to fix this besides buying a can of compressed air (air duster) from Wal-mart ect. and spraying inside it. It is most likely either the hard drive, or fan. That is without getting technical, as long as the laptop is operating normally you should be fine.

possibly fan fault. Phone Technical help for your laptop.

Fan faults are easy to deal with as fans are easy to replace and cheap.
