My friend sneezed and it cut the ball in the back of his throat from top to bottom. What can he do? He said it hurts to swallow.

Wow, weird injury!

The hang-e thing i's called the uvula. I'd recommend two things. First gargle a couple times a day with equal parts hydrogen peroxide and warm salt water mixed together. Then follow it by sipping aloe vera juice throughout the day. Together they will minimize any chance of infection and speed up the healing process.

That must have been one heck of a sneeze in order to cut his uvula (which is part of the soft palate that helps make up the vocal tract). If it is hurting him when he swallows, he should see a physician to see if it needs to be sutured (depending on how badly it's cut) or if it will heal on it's own, and in that case a numbing throat spray generally does the trick for pain in the throat, along with an anti-inflamitory such as ibuprofen.

Gargling some saline soloution in your mouth would probably help speed the healing but I bet it tastes horrible and it might be at a point in his throat in which he would have to swallow it to get the stuff there and so your kinda on your own on that one...

typically you would see a doctor for something like that :)

There's really nothing you can do for it, unless it's really deep maybe the doc will put some stitches in it for him. Just give it time to heal.
