Hey Kim,if you go to Oahu it's best to hook up with a native Hawaiian,someone like a tour guide when he or she isn't working,which probably wouldn't be that often,because it's so expensive over there,most who live there have more then 1 job.The reason for hooking up (I don't mean sexually)because they'll take you places that most tourist wouldn't see if they just remained with a tour guide,plus it's less expensive.Maui is more for couples,but there's lots to do there.The night club Tsunami's is pretty nice.The big island Hawaii has beautiful black sand beaches.Kauai, take the helicopter tour and bring your camera.Go to a travel agent and get an island hopping package and enjoy them all.Have fun!

Depends on how much money you have and what you like to do. I think inter-island roundtrip flights are about $100, so visiting all the islands would cost you a significant chunk of change in addition to your airfare from the mainland.
My wife and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon. We understood it to be the least developed of the islands, and I believe it. Extremely relaxed atmosphere, the whole island is almost tiny, but still big enough to spend a few weeks at and still not see and do everything you might want to do.
If, however, you are looking to enjoy some nightlife, you might prefer Oahu. All of the islands have something unique to offer.

All would be nice, but I would choose either the big island because it is the only place to see an erupting volcano and feel safe, or I would go to Kauai because it is so beautiful.

Depends on what you want. Maui is get for semi-city, semi-middle of nowhere. The Big Island is great for parties and city people.
