Your husband is, like all of us from time to time, paranoid that you are cheating on him in some way. It's normal for us to feel like that.

Tell him clearly that you didn't appreciate it but be understanding. Don't get mad and don't punish him, he'll respond a lot more.

He's doing it because he care about you, as cliched as that may sound.

I think that a diary is often so personal that it should not be read by others, but ultimately most of them do get read by others. If you keep a diary at some point it will be read. Your husband was probably very curious about what you would write in there about him, but to go through with erasing the white out I think shows a certain amount of insecurity he has with the relationship. The two of you definately need to talk about it but try not to become terribly upset when doing so explain it to him calmly and rationally first, then if he dont get it then resort to other methods if needed. I do not know anything about your relationship so it is hard to say but in general I feel he is insecure about the realtionship and the level of communication in the relationship needs to increase. They make some great board games for this, if looking for a fun way to do it.

Hope this helps!!!

I would be livid, as I'm sure you are. A diary/journal is something extremely personal. I keep one and let me tell you, I put down my most deepest feelings in there. What I am feeling at that very moment. It was an extreme invasion of privacy. He is your husband and of course, you should share everything, but he should have asked if he was curious about your diary. If it were something you wanted to share with him, you would have. It's like tapping into your brain without permission.

You need to sit with him and have a heart to heart talk with him. Tell him how his creeping around your stuff made you feel. Tell him why. Not that you are afraid he would find anything out, but that he didn't trust you enough to come right out and ask you. This is a sure sign of immaturity. You can talk this out. We all make mistakes, but please don't let this go by without discussing it.

Good luck.

What an invasion of privacy - I'd be pretty pissed off about that one. I've kept a diary since I was about 12 years old and mostly I write my thoughts and feelings in it and if someone were to read it, even if it were my husband, I'd feel totally betrayed.

I totally agree it is a invasion of privacy he had not right to pick it up and read it. It's private and meant for your eyes only. Lot's of people keep diaries what would be the point of having one if you have to share it.

Get a spell check on your diary so you don't have to white out anything.

I think he was wrong for reading your diary, however i think you are wrong for keeping things from him. He is your husband!

U should tell him to grow up! Doesn't he have better things to do w/his time? U should do something similar to him.
