My 35-year-old wife openly picks her nose in front of me. While she doesn't eat in front of me (although I did catch her eating "privately" recently - which is another question/post), she usually studies the findings for a few seconds, then wipes or drops them into the carpeting. I have "scolded" her for this and left boxes of tissues around the house (per a recent suggestion), but this hasn't worked. She usually just apologizes and says, "she didn't realize she was doing this." I find this very strange for an adult to do and wonder if any others have significant others who do the same and what they've done about it, if anything. Maybe I'm over-reacting?

It is normal for anyone to do this because they have become confortable with there partner. You can talk to her about it. Just let her know that you have set tissues around the house for that reason. Maybe if she continues to do it after that you can just remind her that she is doing it. Maybe you can help her over come her childish actions. About the eating in private the only thing I can tell you about this is just before you kiss her make sure she cleaned her mouth out. I hope I have helped.

In my opinion, the next time your wife does this, you should sit her down, give her a tissue, and explain to her that it's not alright to do this at her age. That your her husband and you care about her and how she takes care of herself.
If you do this, be gentle but not too gentle, because you don't want to seem scared for her.

GROSS... if i have something in my nose that won't come out with simple blowing then i will use a finger, and then a TISSUE, and then WASH my HANDS... your wife needs a lesson in personal hygiene... that thing about wiping it in the carpet is NASTY!!

My boyfriend and I made a promise to never intentionally do something like that in front of each other because we ewant to stay sexually attracted to one another. No going to the bathroom together (even peeing), no shaving my legs either. Definitely no nosepicking!

When she is in the act, hand her a saucer, bowl, whatever and tell her when she's done you will put them in the fridge and save them for her. Maybe seeing and hearing this will sink in how nasty this habit really is to you!

get out the vaccuum. i love picking my nose, studying the findings and then wiping them on my computer desk. when i was mad at an ex i would wipe them on his wall.
