Right now they are only 5 games back but they aren't playing that well, do you think they will win their division?

I think that they've got a very good chance to win their division, if they manage to fill in some holes by the trading deadline. Kendry Morales is progressing nicely at first base, and if McPherson and Kotchman manage to come off the DL, they'll have two of their young bats back. Darin Erstad being out really hurts the team, because they lose the intensity that he brings to the game. And the Angels really lost one of their big bats when Bengie Molina left as a free agent. For as good as Mathis and Jose Molina are defensively, they just can't match what Bengie managed to do year in and year out.

The most glaring weakness is in their starting rotation. Bartolo Colon is still struggling, and Jeff Weaver never managed to find a good rhythm. Hopefully, they won't just let Jeff leave without working out a deal for him. And every Angel fan knows about how good Jered Weaver is, but will he continue to have the same sort of success that he had in his first call-up?

To sum it all up, don't count the Angels out.

This years AL West is like last years NL west, struggling mightily. Although, I don't think the teams have been as pathetic as the National squad. In fact, I would venture a guess that an improved level of play will be in seen in the second half of the season.

As for who will win the division, I think it will come down to the last week of the season. Which is basically a repeat of whats happened the last few years. I see it as a toss up between Oakland and Anaheim, with the A's squeaking by for the crown.

They have a great chance to win there division Once there starters get back to playing every day and as weak as the AL west is now it is anyones race and Oakland and texas always fall off towards the end of the season and they did the riht thing send jeff weaver down to the minors for his bro so they will start to turn it around

Yah I agree that the Angels suck. It's all about the Dodgers. What is this crap about the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim?
The Dodgers were here first and they are here to stay. Angel fans you need to find your own city, this is LA not Anaheim so get lost.

I wouldn't count them out yet...you never know...their only 5 games back...that's not bad...it's the half way point...I've seen teams down by 10 or more come back to finish 1st...if the Angels are your team...keep the faith...real fans never give up on their team!!
