As long as there is no odor, it is very normal. Women have vaginal secretions during their entire cycle. During the middle of your cycle when you are ovulating, you will notice that the mucus is clear and stringy. During other times of your cycle is will be white colored, and sort of pasty.

A lot of women have discharge like that, actually. As long as it doesn't turn a strange color or smell very badly, you should be ok. Just wear pantyliners and you'll be fine. Sometimes that type of thing goes away with age, sometimes not. But if you start feeling pain when you get it, or if it becomes too thick or changes in color/smell, you should see a doctor about it soon.
If you don't feel comfortable talking to your dad about stuff like this, then you can always talk to a teacher you trust or a school nurse. I do hope you find someone to talk to about it, though, because a lot of the answers you'll get on this site come from misinformed people who just want points, so you might not be able to rely on what they say.
In a situation like yours, it might be good for you to start seeing an OB/GYN. Even if you do feel comfortable talking to your dad about these things, he might not have the knowledge or experience you need. Just ask your doctor the next time you see him/her to recommend a good one for you, if you can.

What you are experiencing now is called: "Menarche". It is your very first menstrual period, and the beginning of puberty. Your Uterine lining has "shed",to prepare you for menstrual periods now,and childbirth later. You will have a normal bleeding (flow) soon,if you have'nt yet. Don't worry! There is nothing wrong. This process is absolutely normal, and there may be a slight,(but not offensive) odor, during this time. It would be a good idea,to wear thin "pantie liners" with deodarant guard,or baking soda,to ease the felling of discomfort,or embarrasement.
If you are still concerned, then get some advice from an adult female, whom you can trust to tell you the truth. She will also know,if you need a doctor's visit. (Smile!)

Don't worry Janie this is normal. This will continue throughout your life. When we ovulate, about 2 weeks after your period starts every month this white or clear discharge happens. There is nothing you can do about it it happens to everyone. If you have any itching, odor, burning when you urinate you may have an infection which we all get at some time which is easy to clear up. This is nothing to be ashamed of you are just becoming a young lady. Please don't be scared to talk to your dad the things we are embarresed about when we are a teenager are not embarresing to adults especially parents. Talk to him you'll be glad you did and it will make him happy that he raised such a beautiful young lady that feels like she can talk to her dad. Good luck.

It sounds perfectly normal to me. At the middle of your cycle (halfway between periods), you'll have a weird discharge like that because you're ovulating (releasing an egg). Like everyone else said, as long as it doesn't smell any different than normal and isn't a really weird color, and you don't have any itching or burning, it's normal. (It sounds gross, but you do need to learn what your normal discharge smells like, because infections smell different.)
And please don't be afraid to talk to your dad. He knew he would be raising a girl alone, so he's probably prepared for all these talks. : ) If he doesn't know the answers, he'll probably love helping you find the answers. And you'll have a closer relationship with him because of it. If you don't think he would be comfortable talking about this stuff, ask him if it's okay to ask questions. And ask if he knows anyone who WOULD be comfortable talking about it.

It's just your ovulation. I started having little white losses even one year before my periods quite frequently... you just have to start wearing thin pads about seven days after your period stops (when the ovulation begins) and that's that. It's not the most pleasant, but don't freak. It may give you a few similar symptoms like PMS (the symptoms you get before your periods), but other than that, you can continue having fun. ;)

Ok. This is rather normal. Even though you are young, your body is thinking in a different mode, and you are what's called 'secreting' or 'movement of fluid' of a substance that is for something else entirely which you don't need to be concerned with right now.
What is important is that it is normal, and you may want to have thin pantyliners when you wear your clothes.

It's normal for women to have feminine discharge. The thing to look for is, does it have an odor, is it yellow or green in color? And do you itch like crazy. If any of these things then you could have a yeast infection and need to see a doctor. Otherwise, it's perfectly normal.
