I have noticed lately that two of my grandchildren are developing spoon shaped toenails. They seem to be getting the proper nutrition. Any ideas (serious ones please) as to why this is happening AND is there a way to reverse it so they can have more normal looking nails???

Spoon shaped nails usually indicate an iron deficiency, or a B-12 deficiency. The children should be taken to a doctor for a check-up, to make sure there isn't a serious underlying condition.

Good luck and God bless!
