What do you wear to public school when it's your first time?

Question

This year is the first year i'm going to public school and i need help. The school dress code is that shorts and skirts can be 4 inches above the knee, no shorter. I've never worn shorts as long as that. What do i wear to gym? Will girls make fun of me for wearing a push up bra sometimes? What about locker room? What do you bring to gym? Do alot of girls bring handbags and purses to school? Do they carry tote bags instead of backpacks since they're so close to their lockers? Can someone explain everything to me. Thanks so much! ♥

dont worry! just relax! well im guessing your going into middle/high school? if so then it really actually depends on which state'city you live in..but at my school, most people wore a cute pair of jeans..(try to get some plain ones, not with designs on them, and nothing too light..dark jeans are in right now) and then go to your favorite store and get a cute top. i'll add some links at the end of cute cheap stuff i would wear. and get a purse that will match everything, something prob. black/white/or tanish. no the girls wont make fun of you if u wear a push up bra...just as long as it not like a doble DD when your just an A. and no matter what you do make sure you act confident and NOT shy. try to make friends the first day, before everyone has met like best friends. changing in a loccer room may be weird at first, but yull get used to it...i was fine after a week or so...but if u really are going to feel uncomfortable..then i guess you could change in the bathroom..people did that at my school...except it's kinda weird. try to fit in with the crowd and join clubs, but when you make friends...then it's your turn to shine! join the choir or band or dance team, i promise if your in a club you'll feel alot better! my school had the same pants/skirt rule..i know stupid! well no one even wore shorts, and skirts...people wore short onse and got away with it...lol.

Girls can b harsh but i bet u that almost all of them will b wearing a push up bra. Just wear cute clothes on the first day with a cute purse and a necklace and bracelet or 2!!! Most schools don't allow anything that can fit a textbook in it 2 b carried unless it is a purse so get a nice 1 that has a lot of room. In gym i wear shorts and a shirt that my school provides!!!! U might get Lucky and get a school that provides the clothes!!!!!!!

Public schools arent that bad. Kids are pretty normal, they dont so much as dress to impress, ya know. Go with somethin' simple, great fitting jeans, the style now is the "ripped" look and maybe a cute top and kind of dress it up a little with a cool belt and come earrings and layerd necklaces and cool flip flops. Fix youre hair up and wear a little makeup. If youre in High school most girls there carry a cute purse but in gradeschool most of them carry book bags. And for gym, ball shoes and loose fit clothing is a must and no, girls wont make fun of you for wearing a push up bra, youre not the only one that does!... Good Luck

Just follow the dress code so you don't get into trouble. Try making friends before school starts so they can help you out. A sling bag works great for gym-just wear soffe shorts (Kohl's, walmart, *****) and bring a plain white tee and bring a reg. one so you can see what everyone else wears for gym. Jeans are safe for school because everyone wears jeans. As for a shirt, a plain tank with some jewelery always looks good without even trying. Push up bra is fine as long as your boobs don't hang out. A tote bag is super for your books and such. Keep a little clutch in the tote for pencils, gloss, calculator, and lunch money. Just make sure to always be yourself and make new friends right away so they can show you the ropes. Don't fret about it too much. No one will care as much as you think. =] Good Luck on your first day!!

Well it really depends on how old you are. But just wear like jean capris or pants, most people don't wear shorts to school if they have to be that long. Don't worry about gym, just wear like the PINK sweats or somehting. Some girls wear handbags & stuff. But relax, the first day, just wear something simple but pretty. And after that you will probably already know what goes on. Good luck ;]

a public school is pretty much the same as a private school... yes they carry purses....and you wear shorts to gym sometimes they provide the clothes and no they wont make fun of you for wearing a push up bra just dont stuff..make sure you bring deodorant to gym and a clean pair of socks... its really just about the same....just dont worry it will be ok....

Gym wear soccer short. Just find your own style. And it would be best if you brought a backpack, keep it in your locker, but it is easier to carry books home.

just wear what you feal comfotable in and whats looks like you and you could make friends easily maybe not so quick and make sure to wear the latest fashion to stay in the circle.good luck!!!!!

I would suggest waiting to buy all your back-to-school clothes. Go to school for about a week and see what's going on and then go and buy all your school clothes and accessories.
