Happiness in a job is as important as high wages. A job that makes you sad will cause problems in your entire life, if you can survive and are comfortable with your present wages then stay where you are happy.

The grass isn't always greener.

A lot of people might disagree, but I much rather have a low paying job that I like than a high paying job that I don't, because you're right. What if you don't like the higher paying job?

Yes, it is terrible that you have to work for minimum wage, but then again there are ways to make extra money on the side to supplement the income.

A job you like, you'll be likely to stay for a long time and over the years, you'll be likely to get raises and promotions, and also, if down the line you are able to find the higher paying support you love, then you'll be able to have quite an impressive job resume where the last thing your employer will think of you as a "job hopper".

Do you have any prospect of promotion in your actual job? If not, what is more important to you? To do what you like, where you're happy or earn more money and maybe not be as happy as you are now. I think you should maybe have a look around, check out what jobs available (That you might like) How much they pay and make up your mind then.

Changing jobs always mean a bit of stress! New work environment, new people, new tasks, new routine! Some people find it difficult at first if they move on to feel happier, make their niche again and enjoy the change. Others don't! It's up to you to decide. I take it you have asked a pay rise in present job? If not maybe you should! It could be that your boss is happy with you and doesn't want to lose you!

Buy a book called "What color is your parachute 2006". (It is on it's umpteenth annual edition, which shows how good it is). This is a great guide to how you should go about finding a job, by which it means identifying what you want to do with your life and developing your career accordingly.

You will need to put aside at least a weekend to do the exercises: this is not a book you just start at the beginning and read to the end. Changing job is a serious business and you shouldn't expect advice on it to be simple.

As you are in a job you like, you are lucky enough to be able to wait while you look round for a better one. Money is not the only thing that is important in a job.

Money is not everything and if you are managing on the wage you are on and enjoy the job so much, why not stick with it longer. There may be changes in the future which you're not happy with which will encourage you to move on but for now, I'd stick with the job I enjoy for lower pay.

hi ,firstly it must be horrible having to dress as a chimpanzee for a living;-) and secondly, look for another job whilst doing your best in the one you have. When you see a similar job with better pay either go for that or tell your current boss you are leaving regretfully for more money-he will not want to lose such a great acting monkey and offer you lots more money! Voila!

Talk to your boss - tell him/her you like doing the job, but the money isn't what you would like, and that you are looking for another job. If your boss thinks you are doing a good job and doesn't want to lose you, he/she will try to negotiate a pay rise for you.

Now that you have experience, you can find another job that is similar to one you're doing now that pays a bit more.
