As a general rule, yes we are. This is the land of plenty and we don't always appreciate what we have, as we can become quite irate and beligerant at minor inconveniences that the rest of the world are quite used to.

Well we definately aren't as hungry as someone from a country that is poorer then us. As a whole we generally spend more then we'll ever make. We don't study as hard, education alone is a major crisis point. But besides that I see it everyday. Turkish people run the gas station down the road and they work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. It's amazing to see someone so dedicated to making the most out the freedoms this country offer. Not only do they speak english better then the hispanics, they also speak fluent spanish. All I can think about is how could I spend that much time away from my family. I've been conditioned that way. I put in alot of time driving a cab (12 hour shifts) but by the fourth one, I really want to relax and play with my son and daughter. It's the american dream. lol.

Hi, I find that just like everything else in life there are always places with all types. For example: every school has the snobby girls, the pretty girls, the studious girls and so on. Same with every country there are the rich and spoiled and there are the poor and needy. I wouldn't necessarily say Americans are more spoiled than any other group of people in another country.

I think so.
It's difficult for most in the U.S. to imagine how it feels to continually worry about being starved or being yanked out of a home to be put in some unknown prison for whatever reasons. We ask questions about the meaning of it all and what our roles are in the world whereas others with such luxury and are preoccupied with just making it through the day alive. We have a very healthy industry of psychiatry in America to help us deal with issues that most other countries' people wish they could get to the point of worrying about.
The more conscientious of us attempt to help others that are less fortunate in various capacities. But most Americans are oblivious to or cannot appreciate the many fundamental concerns many others in different places around the world have.
Without going into what we should do to rectify things, since that's not the intent of the original question, I'll refrain from turning this into a lecture.

I can't speak for all Americans but I myself am not spoiled. I've never had anything handed to me and have had to work and earn everything I have, which isn't very much at all.

Yes! by far too spoiled. So we become whiners, complainers, ungrateful, unthankful, non-appeciative of what we have but always demanding for the next toy in order to be happy. Too bad we only have one day for Thanksgiving in a year while the attitude of expression of thanksgiving should be continuous in our daily living.

I don't think that we are to spoiled. We are the ones that spoiled ourselves. We have facility to work and have nice things, but is only to ask ourselves How many ours we work a week?
How many time you have left to be with your family?
How many time we have even for ourselves?
If we think about it we are always complaining that we don't have time, that we need to spend more quality time with our family, that we need to have more friends, that we need to relax because you have been having so much pain in your back since you started working. I don't think we are to spoiled are we?

Of course! Most Americans think they have to have a huge house, several cars, all the latest gadgets, the newest styles in clothes... Why can't most of us be thankful to have a house to live in? I have a friend in Turkey and his apartment complex has 20,000 people living there! We don't know what it is like for that or to have some shack to live in and it wasn't so long ago that we did. Many of the people during the Depression lived in places like old chicken houses (my Mom did).
Too many think they have to have "stuff" to be happy. It ain't so!

If by "spoiled" you mean produce lots of stuff which they can use yes, but the connotation in your question seems to imply that there is something wrong with producing.
