Gene determine how you will look. Can be from grandparents if not dorminant gene (certain characteristic look is from grandparents instead of their parents).

An example:
The child is partial colour-blind. Both parents are not colour-blind. The grandfather is partial colour-blind.

If both parents have blue eyes, then the baby cannot have brown eyes. If one of the parents has brown or green eyes, then the baby could have blue, green, or brown eyes. Blue is a recessive color, as is green. Brown is the dominant gene. Remember high school biology?? BB, Bb, bb??

no it depends on the color gene in the eye having blue or green eyes is considered a defect in the gene so if both parents have the defect the chance are grater then the child will get it too. but if the grandparents have brown eye it 's more likely that the kids will get brown eyes. it's the luck of the draw.

I'm not sure how this relates to economics.

Blue eyes are recessive. If both parents have blue eyes they will produce only blue eyed children. However, it is possible for non-blue eyed parents to carry blue eye genes. Therefore parents will dark eyes can produce blue eyed children.
