Whether you like to admit it or not, teams like Argentina, Italy, Portugal, etc have a history of cheating and fooling the ref over the last 50 years. In England we don't do that. Call us stupid but that's the truth. In fact English football only started to suffer from the "foregin disease" when they started allowing foreign players to play in England (the current German coach being one of many). Before this happened, English football was renowned for its fair play and lack of cheating.
Personally, I'd rather see England lose 10-0 than win by cheating. It seems other countries don't care how they win.
Would you rather your team lost than cheat?

At the end of the day i am as fucked off as the next person that england are out of the world cup and Wayne Rooney def did not deserve to be sent off.Had the referee given a free kick to england for the foul on Rooney beford the incident then I think the game would of ended diferently but all these ifs and buts dont change what did happen. At the end of the day cheating and feighning injury is common knowledge in football and most of the players who play for england have done it one way or another for there club.I would rather engalnd win a game fairly by not cheating but unfortunatly it seems that this is the way the game is going nowadays, and altho they say cheaters never prosper that cud be argued by looking at who is in the semis and who isnt.At the end of the day some players feel they have to do whatever it takes to win a game and if that means diving, cheating or feighning injury then so be it.nothing will change until FIFA clamp down on the referees and dont allow them to be conned by players surrounding them. The referee was going to give Rooney a yellow card before Ronaldo threw a hissy fit in front of him.in my opinion the referees need to be consistent across the board and book any player who is found to be cheating and the sooner they do this the better

I agree with you completely. England play like gentlemen; and that's fair play!
Chelsea's imports like Drogba, Gallas, etc are starting to change English football by introducing cheating. The FA should take a stand against it. But to survive among terrorists, you must use a gun yourself. Same way, to win you must also cheat! I'd personally cheat only if the opp team started it and took an unfair advantage. But I'd watch my team lose in dignity and respect rather than win shamelessly like other teams.

Are you watching with your eyes closed, or are you *really* so biased that you don't see what your team does as "cheating"? England doesn't win because they play cleaner, they don't win because they're simply not good enough. People on Yahoo!Answers keep saying that England lost because of Rooney, but...he wasn't exactly scoring while he was there, was he? Except for a miraculous goal or two, what has England done this year that is worthy of remembrance?

cheat? arg, portu, gemany? do these "cheater"teams pick up the ball and try to throw the ball in to the net when no one is watching? cuz this is cheating!! other then that every thing else is professional traps and tactic's; for example what do you do when you have to defend against a great player fast strong genius at play? well if you play fair (no pushing no kicking at his feet, no shoving) he might just step all over you and score 2-3-5 goal because you can't stop him! this is the case in the wc great players are here and only way to stop them is to try and trick them into fouling you, and hard play pushing kicking everything you can do as long as the reff doe sent call it its legal. you think this is cheating? the only way you can cheat in football is getting the ball with your hand!! that is real cheating! everything else is tactic and boobee traps.

just a great big lol to whoever asked this question.
By the way - even if Rooney had been given a yellow it may still have led to a Fifa ban for violent behaviour. And I can only mention again his attempt to get a penalty after HE bulldoze through two defenders not with superb ball control but like a sheer massive bulldozer literally

I agree, cheating is no way to win.
It's inbred in our psyche that fair play and taking part are more important than winning at any costs. Sadly, it's a view that is declining as we become even more Americanised, and winning is all that matters.
