I'm a Firefighter/EMT. I get today off because i volunteered to stay at the station tomorrow. It's the busiest day of the year for us. lots of us want to have the 4th off, but our department has to be fully staffed(obviously fireworks=more fires, medical runs, etc.)

I work for a Government Agency and didn't get today off so I am sure no one will get today off unless they request it. I could be wrong though.

people who are off today are probably off tomorrow too. unless you work at a hospital or another 24 hour business of course.
