I started my period when I was 10. I am now 28. For the past 18 years I have had irregular cycles. I can be on or off of my period for up to a year at a time. I found out a few years ago I have PCOS. My problem is it dawned on me a few years ago something else is not right. Since I started having my periods I have bled rectally also...just as heavy and with clots. for some reason it just hit me one day that normal woman can wear tampons and i cannot. I always have had to wear 2 pads. My mother didn't even know i did this until about two years ago. it freaks her out 2 even think about it. the doctors dont know whats wrong. I had laproscopy a year ago. I dont have endo and the only thing they found was I have an enlarged ovary...I went for consult and was scheduled for colonoscopy but company doubled insurance(to 145 wk) so we do not have ins.(we are looking for new)...my uncle died with colon cancer but i've done this so long......what else could it be?

I understand the issue with insurance. But no matter what you have to do, get this checked out. The problem with waiting is that problems that could have been dealt with, when left unchecked, become unfixable and maybe fatal. I don't mean to scare you, but don't wait any longer. Go get help.

Certain pharmacies have free colon cancer light screening tests. I would suggest you ask for one, and wait until you get insurance, or as the other woman suggested look into state aid until you can. I would see a specialist. All this is irregular, and I see no professional answer here.
An endocrinologist is a hormone doctor. If your periods are irregular, it could be a hormonal issue. I would consult with one of them after the colon check. Best Wishes!

Until you get new insurance, do you qualify for state help? Its not something a lot of people like to do, but just for the sake of being able to see doctors until you can get back on insurance I'd say check it out. Try you local Department of Human Services(DHS). To find that, check your phonebook under state services or call your Secretary of States office and they will tell you more! Good Luck hunny!

go to planned parenthood. they will take care of you at no or very little cost. (insurance) is a big problem in this country today. Unless they think your a nut case no doctor should have just dropped thee problem cause they cant figure it out. Are you sure you just don't have a very heavy flow? My mother had to wear 2 pads & a tampax. Why do you think its coming from your rectum?
