the brain is an organ, made of tissue. the mind is conceptual - not something you can touch or measure - comprised of one's thoughts, intuition, and emotions.

The brain is the physical home of the mind. Just like a house, when the tenants aren't home, the brain continues to function without the mind. The heat comes on & off, the clocks continue to run, the water heater keeps heating the water. You can have a brain without a mind (mice & toad have 'brains', they can't really be said to have 'minds'), but not the other way around. The mind allows higher animals to use their brain to manipulate their environment to better ensure survival. It is the ultimate survival mechanism & advantage, and it is what puts us at the top of the food chain.

The mind is something very different from the brain. It is our awareness of the world, the terrain of our reasoning and beliefs. The brain, on the other hand, is made up of neurons and other cells and structures such as blood vessels to allow conscious and subconcious functionality to the rest of the body.
