I have a Nokia 6600 and use the infra red port on my laptop (win 2000) to link the two together.
It's quite easy. Enable Infra red on the phone (on mine its under connect) and place it in front of the IR port on the pc.
The pc detects it and the IR icon appears.
You can then right click on any media file and 'send to' the IR connection.
You will have to experiment with which files play and which don't. (I know .wav and .mid do!)
Good Luck
