I answer until i can think of something better to do. and I also answer when i take a break form cleaning my apartment. I would say mostly for 15 minutes at a time for quite a few times a day

Some questions are so important, it's no longer about saving time, and getting best answers. I'll take as long as I need for those, but they only come along about once a week.

Others are simply thinking up something marginally witty and hitting the 'submit' button.

Not much but I think of answering questions as a good way for me to review whatever concepts are related to the question. Therefore, it seems that answering questions is a valuable experience.
