Try washing it in cold water. Most shirts do lighten after the first wash but stop after. Also, try line drying it instead of putting it in the dryer.

Cold water wash in Woolite, gentle/delicates cycle, inside out, then drip dry inside hung on showerhead in bathroom. Unfortunately, some clothing manu. use inferior dyes, so there's nothing you can do about that.

Before washing, soak in a little bit of vinager to set the dye. Also, when the black is fading, dye it (along with all the other faded black articles of clothing) with black RIT or any other clothing dye.

Their are several detergents that have color guard protectors in them just read the box it tells what it does. I do no Cheer does. Also use cold water.
