I've decided to answer in your defense as people are going to berate you and call you insensitive but I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you. I think some people never navigate much farther than the Yahoo screen. I teach computer classes and it astounds me how much people DON'T know how to do the simplest research on their own.

There is no such thing as a dumb question.
If they don't ask then they won't know.
Asking questions is also a way of putting yourself out there to meet new and interesting people and expanding your knowledge of everything possible.
Besides Yahoo Answers seems to be a great place where everyone can share their first hand experience and knowledge to others who may not have anyone in their life to do such a thing.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for the two points.
Instead of thinking of questions, think of it this way.
When I read someone Else's question I too learn a little bit more, and possibly start thinking of things that I would normally not think about.
What I don't agree with is when kids get on here and expect everyone else to do their homework for them.

I don't think the question or answer really matters a lot of the time. I think it's the interaction that is the attraction. I find it hard to accept that the good folk are taking the opinions of Q&A participates as a resource. Generous amounts of salt should be applied to anything you read on the net. The dumb questions are by far the best in that they bring out some fantastic humour in my opinion. I hope other people are finding this as funny as I do, and some folk are serious about their answers. Thank you for this opportunity to express my opinion.

I really dont believe it has anything to do with being DUMB....This is a site where you can ask anything (well almost) and that is the fun part about it...they know you can look it up on the net...but maybe they want to find other websites that they dont know about yet.....and they come here for feedback.. nothing wrong with it...if you personally think a question is dumb then go on to a different question to answer....simple as that

One word will sum that up entirely - laziness.
It is much easier to ask the question, and have everyone rush to give you their form of the answer, but who's to say that they have the right answer unless you research the subject, and confirm what they said as gospel??
Like someone else said, why worry about it, get 2 points, move on, and let their ignorance be their downfall.

because it really is way less puzzling to conceal in the back of your avitar rather of being laughed at on your face, even if, I ask DUMB questions only for leisure. some human beings imagine its infantile to ask a stupid question like, do you snigger on the sound of a fart? Eh, so its infantile, I laughed and that i'm particular some different person did too, aspect is, its their precise to finish that, which contain it is your precise to ask your question, solid success with the answer!!

You forget that there are young teens on here who really think that if they are interested in something, the rest of the world is as well. Most of thedumb questions( outside the religious section) are asked by teenagers or foreign, uneducated women.

Is that what you mean, cause it's just annoying as all get out, right? Get after 'em, Girl!

Why do ppl ask the same question twice in a row?
In general, when you stop focusing on other ppl and what they do, you will be happier. It's called acceptance and compassion.
