All groups, any group, any size. The most effective way to unify a group of people is to have a common cause that all can agree upon.

Play music and hire some diverse actor and actresses to mingle. Especially works with attractive actors and actresses. People just need a model of unity to follow. This works with any size group of people. Encourage the LEADERSHIP of the group to show themselves HUMAN in all their human errors and people will let down their guards. Also, praise, reward and consumate professionalism goes far. The latter part of my answer sounds more sensible, but the first will work as well.

I don't know, kill them all. That way they'll all be equal and unified, on their way to heaven! It's probably the best chance of getting there anyway. With Bush in office, is a very good chance that the world will not be around very long anyway.

the most effective way tounify any group, be it 3 or 3000 is to give them a common goal, with a defined result for all For instance, if you can raise $10,000 for a certain charity, there will be a party and awards ceremony for the top ten fundraisers.

All groups benefit from being involved. If you are addressing a large crowd and they have nothing to focus on, they will talk among themselves and not be on a mutual interest. If you give everyone something to think about and concentrate on, they will work together on a common goal.

Present them with an external threat. i.e. the Nazi's in WWII. For a small group present a common problem for all to overcome together such as is done in military boot camp.

Unfortunately, in this country, to blow something up-sad, isn't it.
For other countries, a good (called soccer here) game!
Size of group-millions.
