When people ask a ? why do some people feel the need to?

It's just another way that certain people have of feeling superior to those around them---and they do this because they feel as though they themselves are the authority on what is acceptable---I would race to underscore the fact that this place is Q & A---not Grammar 101
Another thing that bothers me alot--people that do not at least make an attempt to understand the fact that alot of people on this site are working in a very foreign tongue--- some of them in a third or fourth language---and they get attacked because they are having a hard time using the proper words or phrases--they are attacked by people who call them (those that know several languages) ignorant because they don't know the proper words like them (who barely operate in one)

Why did you put a question mark in your question instead of the word 'question'. That is exactly the point of your question. If someone asks a question and expects a thoughtful and truthful answer, they should have the courtesy and manners to use proper spelling and grammar (it is Grammar and not Grammer).and not use abbreviations such as b4u and all that texting jargon. Because some people that if a person messes up their spelling they don't deserve an answer (I only correct spelling etc. when it interferes with the meaning of the Q)

I guess it inflates their ego, especially when they have little else to make them feel worthwhile, useful, correct and like somebody is listening. While it is annoying, I kinda pity those people. You have to wonder what their lives consist of.

I usually just ignore it... but when it is so bad that I cannot even fathom what the heck they are asking it is really annoying.
