Indiana, where I live, has made them legal but Illionois hasn't. People set fireworks off day and night and it scares the crap out of my yourng niece and my pets. I think town firework shows are great but I hate that people can set off home ones. What do you think?

I live in Indiana, too, but I love it! I never seem to be able to get to the town fireworks, but we are able to have our own show. Even the founding fathers said it was a day to be celebrated by shooting off guns--I'd rather be watching and listening to the fireworks than dodging bullets. I've had dogs the same way, though--we had a huge German Shepard that we didn't see again until July 5. But the one we have now just looks out the back window like "Well, that one was kind of pretty."

I think they should be legal everywhere! I live in florida and we are allowed to have fireworks, except in some counties, because of the major amount of smoke last year, but I think fireworks are alot of fun. I like the shows that you can go to, but to me, there is just something cool about being able to light your own in your own backyard. And its not like we point them at people or anything, and yes they are dangerous, but if you make everything illegal that is dangerous, there would be nothing. Anything could be a hazard, such as a feather, a person could eat it and choke on it, stupid, but it could happen.

I think they are better than homemade fireworks.
People do not use caution when using fireworks.
They cause fires to houses.
Just the other day a young man in Missouri lost his hand
from sparklers, he is18.
I agree the town should have a display.
Happy Independence Day!

I just bought $75.00 worth of Class B fireworks, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask.
