Yesterday I just found out that my Uncle is gonna give our family a used BMW M5. It's white [Alpinweiss] and it has a black interior. It has 19" - 20" BMW wheels, and looks like he has applied a Spoiler in the back. He said it was worth $100,000+. I feel guilty about someone giving us a really valuable car. Should we take it?

BMW didn't make the M5 in 2005. Try again.

Well it's not worth $100K first off, but it's still a valuable car.
Should you take it? yeah, sure (DUH) but only if:
1. someone sensible to going to drive it, because if the driver isn't sensible, he's probably going to kill himself or someone else.
2. Once the warranty is up, ditch it immediately. The maintenance and repair costs on this car will make your socks roll up and down.
3. Someone in the family has checked on insurance costs---you won't like this quote, believe me.
good luck,

Hey, if it's ok with him. It's a really really amazing car, man. You'll love it. Maybe your Uncle is getting a new car, maybe he's done having fun with it. It's ok to take it as long as it's a gift and he's family. I'd feel a little werid getting a car from a friend, but my uncle, i'll take it. Just ask him why he's getting rid of it and tell him thanks. I hope you love the car. hey, if you don't want it, i'll take it. :)

By the time you asked this question I would have whipped the arm off him and got insurance, dont even think about it, they are an incredible car, 100% take it, take it, take it, you dont know when this oppertunity will come again.

BMWs have awesome handling. You will feel the difference the first time you drive it. But you got to get use to RWD.

If you feel that guilty, I can help you and your family, by accepting the car instead of you.

If he can afford to give it then yes. I wouldn't buy one unless you have lots of $$ for maintenance and repairs down the road.

$100K is an exaggeration, but never look a gift horse in the mouth.
