Either one can go fast enough to get you in trouble, or get you hurt if you fall off. If you don't know the difference, you're not ready for either one.

Actually, most of the 49cc/50cc scooters tend to top off in between 40-45mph. So the question you might be wanting to ask also is, which one will top out the fastest. The Honda Ruckus tops out at about 43mph, but the time to get there takes a little while and costs $2499 Yamaha Zuma 50 also tops out at 43mph, however, its takeoff and acceleration is much better than other scooters and costs $2540 But with a little more time and money, you can easily modify both of these scooters to go even faster.

I have a 49cc 2 stroke scooter, and it goes 55mph on a flat road. Not too good up hills though.

WEll, Honda makes the Eleite 50cc scottter, and it will go 35mph easy. A 250cc scotter should go up to 110mph...a Ninja 250 will do 120mph....just pack a lunch, cuz its gonna take half the day to get there....

Ultimately, top speed is dependant upon final gear ratio..... change the size of the sprockets, and you can change top speed or bottom end torque...

49cc 4-stroke . . around 30mph/48kph stock

Definitely select a scooter with an engine displacement suitable to maintain speed with traffic flow in your specific situation.
