Yes....I feel stupid sometimes, being the only calling the WWF the WWF, because the whole WWE is dumb to me. I grew up in 80s and it was the WWF for 20 years. How do you expect to call it something else after all these great years with WWF...?

Don't read into this too much. Even though I don't like and never liked the name WWE, and as much as I'd like for them to change the name back to WWF because I still refer to it as WWF, I don't think that's the reason they're doing it. I think it might have something to do with the video library.
They're doing it so they can say 'World Wrestling Federation' when discussing their past. There are many matches from WWWF and WWF where the term 'World Wrestling Federation' is used. A trademark would protect both the original work and any modifications done to the original. Even if they get the trademark, that doesn't mean they can abbreviate World Wrestling Federation and call it WWF. They can't. World Wrestling Federation and WWF are two different things when talking trademarks and references.

Why bother, unless the WWE thinks they are going to get publicity out of a dual with the World Wildlife Federation. Which may be their strategy. I used to watch the WWF as a kid, but I am long bored. My fascination died with Andre The Giant. I am not sure if the popularity and revenues have suffered since the name change, but with Ultimate Fighting rising in the ranks maybe it is time the WWE fades away. In reality do we need any of these blood sports, fake or otherwise. Maybe it is time we had positive role models again. Our professional sports figures don't seem to care. Some apparently have the same attitude and irresponsibility that Peewee Herman had! I guess the almighty buck will determine what lives and what fades away... not what's good for our families.

personally i liked the show better as wwf. however as long as they bring back the rest of DX i don't care. but still think they should bring it back.

WHEN VINCE TOOK THE COMPANY PUBLIC(SOLD STOCK ON THE MARKET) HE COULDNT USE WWF ANYMORE....IT ALREADY BELONGS TO THE WORLD WILDLIFE FOUNDATION....SO IT BECAME WWE.
