There can be little real doubt that abuses of this type are rife in any war situation, though does not excuse it, no matter what reasons or excuses are provided by the rapist and murderers.

America, sadly, has not signed up to the world agreement on soldiers being held responsible for their actions, thus allowing American soldiers to act with impunity, as they do, constantly.

The US army has not lost control exactly. Control is a strange thing to define. If you've ever heard of the complexity theory, it says that complicated systems are impossible to control because it is impossible to predict for sure what will happen in a complicated system. The weather for example relies on many variables including barometric pressure, humidity, the sun's position and intensity, and so many other things that it can't be predicted fully. That is why you hear 30 percent chance of rain rather than it will rain today and things like that.

And humans are probably the most unpredictable complicated system there is. The more intelligence is present in a system the less controllable it is. Those men may have done it on the fly and just wanted revenge for the deaths of comrades and their own suffering. They may have a "screw loose," that is to say they may have a mental inbalance in chemicals or psychology in their minds, they may not have done it at all and it is attempt by other humans at revenge at them or to lessen American moral superiority in this thing.

But overall while the problems this army is currently having are more than normal in the army it is by no means "out of control." The vast majority of the army is still doing its job and doing it well.

First of all I think the question you are trying to ask is "Has the Army lost control?" Who was you English teacher? The answer to your question is no. I don't believe they have lost control. There are bad apples in every barrel and the Army will prosecute any wrong doers. Over all the US military has shown the up most restraint and professionalism. By the way how about if we assume they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law ( a little something I read about in the constitution, a good read you should try it)

If people pass judgement over what 2-5 people do in a group of over 100,000 it is sad. Are there dirtbags in the Army yes but are most people in the US Armed forces good people of course. If we use the logic of what 2-5 people do for an city do we say a city is out of control.

Please excuse me for the broad way i will answer this question but at what point did the US army have control? they are not an elite military machine, they are trained viscous killers! once the lights go out the adrenaline takes over, joining the forces is a one way ticket to reprogramming your mind, the US forces are renowned for screwing up, e.g. friendly fire, one of there own trying to kill them with grenades, killing inoccent iraqi's. Oh and by the way this is'nt a racial thing, im a white, christian, 25 yr old male from the UK.

i wouldn't consider the army losing control out of 2 people . The army is just like civilians they also have bad people , some will probably lose hope and morals after seeing the things they have seen and go crazy

It has nothing to do with the army.
It has everything to do with the perception of it though. If something like this happened in another place, say Baltimore or Chicago no one would have blinked an eye because "It happens everyday"...
When you are put in a spotlight in view of the entire world and something happens like this, it makes the entire U.S. look bad.

This is what happens when you stay to long in a war that cant be won. It is just a matter of time before the bad seed of the military show themselves and we have been there too long.

If they did it it isn't right. The thing is though what are they going through mentally. Everything is different over there compared to here, since they are over their fighting. I really hope that they didn't do that, for the people's family that it is said to have happened to. It is time for our troops to come home now.

I hope they kill and rape more, because it never happened. And if an innocent person was killed, tough!!! That is why it is war.Crap happens. No one seems to get too upset when the terrorist kills a US soldier, or civilian. WHY???
