Everett used to be a paper mill town. The skiing is east on highway 2. Colby is the main street through downtown. Marysville is just north of it and I think has an Indian casino.
Silver Lake is near 128th. Probably a good area to live.
North Everett is mostly older homes.
Damn, gotta quit commenting on the Puget Sound area. Buy yourself a small boat and go island hopping or camping once in a while.
Lived in the P.S. for over 20 years. Don't need to get homesick now.

I lived in the area in the '80s. It's grown quite a bit since then I hear - nice area. A couple hours east youre in the mountains (snow ice etc some times in the year). There's a lot of outdoor things to do. It's near enough to Seattle to go do things there - check out the laser shows. In and near Everett depends on what kinds of things you're interested in. There used to be (dunno if it's still there) a place called Wanda's between Everett and Lynnwood that was a non-alcoholic dance club - pool tables etc. Cool place if you like doing stuff like that without the alcohol in bars.
spent a lot of time there - still know people there.

I'm from Seattle which is about 30 minutes south of Everett...I've never really been into Everett for any reason but I have had friends that have lived there and from what I've heard it's stereotypically "Ghetto". Traffic through there is nasty, no matter what time...But you would be close to Seattle, which is a nice city with lots to do!

particular. I stay there. What could you go with to renowned? North Everett has a super variety of terrible neighborhoods as properly as costly and correctly-saved ones. There are 2 scientific institution campuses in north Everett. South Everett has a newly renovated mall and the finished element runs alongside Interstate 5, so alongside with previous ninety 9, there are a number of the thank you to get to Seattle. the subsequent city to the north, Marysville (my homestead city), has reliable outlet procuring and the huge new Tulalip on line casino. enable's see, basically like all of us else right here i've got worked for Boeing... there is the army base out on the water... reliable camping out once you're prepared to rigidity better than an hour previous Granite Falls. No substantial league basketball anymore, yet there is often soccer and baseball, suitable? loads of museums and track shops. trouble-free accessibility to seashores, yet they are often small and rocky. :( edit: FarmGirl is spot-on with reference to the neighborhoods, regrettably, I stay approximately 10 minutes from the mall and once you're employing previous the intersection of ninety 9 and 128th at night, there are hookers walking the streets. no longer a reliable section suitable there.

Heavy traffic, lots of rain, but easy access to the Seattle area with the Space Needle, Seattle Center, and the Pike Place Market, not to mention Pioneer Square and the tour of the Underground City; and of course, the center of Grunge...
