What is an appropriate age to have a page on MySpace if the parent's are monitoring the child's every move? Is there another site like MySpace for kids around 12 YEARS OLD?

I should have stated this in my question that I would never allow my kids to go on MySpace because of all the perverts and pedophiles out there preying on young and naive kids. I was trying to find out for another child to disuade them from wanting to do this. I was hoping to find a kid friendly site similiar to it, but even that is scary considering how people pose as kids. Thanks for all the answers. I appreciate it. This kids is too young for MySpace anyway. :)

they have to be 14 with parents email confirmation. But i let my daughter who is 9 have an email on yahoo and they have 360. That works good for her to talk to her cousins in ghana and upstate. Ps i liked what you wrote for my ? thanks alot.....

You are suppose to be 18, but most kids just lie about their age and get on myspace anyways

There's no other MySpace site.You have to be 14. If your parents let you have one, you could always lie about your age (I'm not saying you should. It's totally up to your parents). Your profile could also be set on private.

thats just sad that you'd want a myspace, but shure, you'd get one if you lie about you age, but be carefull out there.
