I grew up very poor (not even running water) and I did well in school and didn't get into any trouble. People seem to think that if a person grows up poor that is an excuse for them to be criminals. All people are subject to the same moral laws and there is no free pass to poor people. There is no excuse to get into drugs or crime just because you are poor. There are alot of poor nations in the world where there isn't as much crime as in the U.S. These welfare families get everything handed to them for free (I have seen them buy all kinds of goodies at the grccery store while I buy generic and just the basic) and they walk out and get into their car while I carry heavy bags to the busstop. THese are the same people that are selling drugs in the parking lot and robbing people. I am still very poor myself but I don't resort to criminal activity as a solution. I don't blame my upbringing or the goverment.

I agree with you. Eight years of the Church of Liberalism and "moral relativity" ordains that no one is responsible for anything because everyone is a victim.

Well, that is unless you're un-affiliated. That makes you an evil, stupid, flag-waving superstitious flat-earther. Unworthy of forgiveness and damned to Republican hell lorded over by the dark-lord, W...

Praise be to Liberals, for no one is to blame....abortion, anyone?

you shouldn't judge other people's situations by what you observe, there is more than meets the eye. I don't think that criminals say they did it because they were poor, but their is a correlation between socio-economics, and crime. But now that we are somewhat prosecuting rich people for their crimes, as well, maybe there won't be such a divide. Rich people don't commit less crimes, they just get out of the consequences more often. Not all rich people are corrupt, not all poor people are criminals. You just keep working hard for yourself, and don't worry how other people live their lives. Their choices will affect them

Lawmakers have been building a welfare state for years. It used to be people were encouraged to get jobs and be responsible for themselves. Today the same lawmakers want people on the welfare roles so they will be dependent on the state. That way they can get more income redistribution and have some control over their lives. People that don't work tend to think they are entitled to everything and demand more. Crime doesn't mean as much to someone that didn't work for a living. They are used to getting everything for free.

You answered your own question. It's an excuse. Most people who exhibit bad behavior have an "excuse".

Or, at least that was the slogan in the 90's.
Now, it's "get rich, or die trying"
