My husband and I met almost 7 years ago, online.
It's working fine.
My guess is the chances online romance can work in the long run are about the same as any romance.
Unless you're talking JUST online, in which case..only until the spouse finds out.

I have personal experience with online dating : my mother did it.
She tried eHarmony and found a guy who lived a couple cities over and they started dating...four months later they were engaged. They got so caught up in the idea of being together.
Then the ugly things happen...personality flaws...crazy family...being the child watching it, it made me sick to see how stupid adults can be.
So on Christmas Day my mother gave the $20,000 ring back and that was the end of that.
I don't think that online dating works. If you are meant to be with someone, you will collide, not on a webpage.
And the effects it has on the people around you are not always positive. My sister hated the guy and I wasn't too fond of him either. It was awkward and just a stupid move for everyone.

I would have to say no. Its not the same as dating someone in real life. Don't know what your partner is like in real life. I have made this mistake many of times, I have given up on the whole dating thing online. Your personalities and the way you both live will be just the opposite then what your thinking.

I suppose it could work, but it could also be very difficult. I tried online dating a while ago and always felt very uncomfortable telling people that I met someone off of the Internet, which is why I don't do it anymore. Stick with the old-fashioned way of meeting people, it's the best way to go in my opinion.

My wife and I met in Yahoo chat. I flew 5000 miles to see her. We've been married 4 years now so yes it can work. Just make sure you stay off the computer after you meet though or else your new love may think you're looking for an upgrade!

Depends on how determined you are. If you want it to work, it probably can work out. But if you don't, then it'll probably fall apart. The real question is, Do you think online relationships can work out?

I think it can work, but sooner or later, someone is going to have to move closer to the other...
