Also I'm a Cancer. Why does that have to sound so...um...fatal?

I have to say that I have NO scientific proof that horoscopes are for real.
But I also have to say that there is a very good possibility it has SOME effect on each of us.

Here's my point-of-view:
We know for a FACT that the moon affects the tides.
We know for a FACT that there are planetary cause-and-effects, solar influences and universal laws that impact Earth, other planets and stars.
So who's to say that when we're born, the alignment of the planets DON'T have an impact on our nature?
I think it's very possible it DOES affect us, our personalities, or beings.

Might be a good question for God, when I die!

Astrology is a discipline which uses set rules to explain natural phenomena. Quite simply, the Greek word 'scientia' simply means 'wisdom'. Some astrologers claim that traditional astrology is a science, while others want to create a new scientific astrology separate from traditional practices. However, modern scientific method usually requires that theories be tested through experiments under controlled conditions, which is where Astrology performs a bit like the weather - even where the conditions seem right for rain, it never means that it's an absolute.

Newspaper horoscopes and the like, however, are generally not that reliable. Most people think that their Sun sign alone is the determination to everything astrological, when in reality it is only one of 12 planetary influences.

Your astrolgical sign, Cancer, actually comes from the Latin word cancer which means, 'crab' /and/ malignant disease. Cancer astrologically is known as the Crab, from its constellation which the ancients observed and importuned as resembling a crab in the heavens.

Celestially,

Cancer is also a zodiac sign, nothing to do with the disease. In fact many Cancer people prefer the term Moon Child.

I think it is just entertainment myself. But I taught myself to make some horoscopes and do some tarot readings. I used to get a lot of free drinks.

However once I went to a professional tarot reader who told me I was going to get the job I wanted in Milwaukee and that the guy I was dating was no good for me.

LOL I didn't get that job and I moved in with Larry and we married. We have been together since January 1, 1984.

Your question has been argued for centuries.
There is no proof either way and never can be.
If your horoscope predicts something that comes to be, that is often taken as proof that horoscopes are mystical views into the future.
If it's a false predicition there's the argument that the celestial bodies didn't align properly or some other explanation.
When your horoscope predicts something that doesn't happen, that could be construed as fate.
Do I believe in horoscopes, heck no. My spititual adviser tells me that only she can figure out what is to be.

For horoscopes to endure for so long, -it has to portend to be a 'science' as well as an art.

When it says "beware of people you meet today", -what are you supposed to do with that?? For the 'believers' they can make it come true, for the skeptics, even if they did meet a 'man with a cloak', the skeptics will still say 'so what'??

I'm cancer too, so is my twin sister.. Is her life "governed by the stars" too? She's quite a different personality... science would say the month you're born has little to do with your personality.

But I do find it interesting that folks born in some particular months do have a degree of some form of malady. More allergies maybe??

It's all a matter of opinion. I don't go completely by my horoscope every day, but I do take in into consideration, and a lot of times I read my horoscope the day after and it usually is right on the nose with what happens to me the previous day. If you do look at everything, your entire astrological chart and go not only by your birthday, but the time and place you were born, and all of that, it is different from everyone elses. It's usually very right on too. And if you were born on a cusp, you need to take that into consideration too.

By seeing your picture you seem to be a decent person and elderly to me. So, i'll give you a decent answer. Astrology is not for fun only. Its mathematics. You have to make lots of calculations to prepare you chart. Its also related to science. Science has proven that minds of people gets affected by Moon. Just like water of ocean is affected on Full Moon. Our body consists of 80% of water. Remember that. one another example, If you pass sun rays through Prism, you get 7 visible colours and 2 invisible rays (I.R and U.V). In astrology you have 7 planets and two invisible planets (RAHU & KETU). Astrology is a very deep subject and not crap. You need to give many years just to understand astrology then you are able to learn it. So, i would like to tell all the people who dont believe in astrology, please dont talk rubbish unless you havent actually realised it. It might also have happened that they may have fallen into some rubbish astrologer who would do crap readings just for money.
Im an astrologer myself but i dont charge a single paisa for readigs.

People are deeply interested in their future. Number of persons believing in horoscope is sufficiently large and may not be ignored. In my opinion there is no scientific basis for prediction of future.
