get IMed, its mainly by someone thats 10-14....i mean, theyre cool and all, but im 18, and i dont wanna seem weird if i talk to them...it is ok that i talk to kids this age? i dont wanna be mean and not talk to them....

It is OK if your behavior has limits.Talk to them about something that is for their age.

you dont have to talk to anyone you dont want to. And that's the best part of IM. Your never gonna see them face to face so its not gonna be awkward if you dont talk to you. You dont have to ignore them either. No one is gonna think your weird if your jsut talking to younger people. the age difference is not so where it is completely weird.

its not about being mean again its the maturity level and not only that what do you guys really have in common you are pretty much college bound soon and they just started the freshman year of high school don't let them little yougins get you caught up into something further then what it is...be safe and always use wisdom...

Hey, if you wanna talk to ppl your own age, the best way to weed them out is to be upfront with them about it. Tell them your age and ask for theirs. It ain't rude, it's honest. Take care of yourself.
