It depends on whose year -the answer is different for different religious groups, but the mean solar year in 1900 was 365.2422 days. That is the amount of time it took the earth to make one revolution around the sun. It is slowing very slightly over time due to the effect of the tides. The 365.2422 answer is why only centuries divisible by 400 are leap years - 2000 was a leap year but 1900 was not and 2100 will not be a leap year.
