Go to Dubai, UAE. It's in the Middle East but very Western. Great place to hang out, go to the beach, and see an entirely new culture. It is a bit pricey for lodging and plane fare, but the average cost for cabs, food, etc, is more than fair (really cheap for cab actually - often as low as 0.75 American). Great place to visit, or even live! Go in early spring, otherwise it is unbearably HOT!

During my cruise on a navy ship we pulled into Sydney Australia, was there for five days, been there a few times and THAT WAS TEH BEST!! 2nd, would be Phuket Thailand, tropical and fun.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands in India. Went scuba diving and saw many wonderful corals and colorful fishes. It was great!!! :)
