I have serched the net and havent found a mini sd ( or even sd) to sony memorystick duo anywhere

No, SD cards are a totally different format to the PSP's memory stick. Its more than just a case of them being different in size. They use different technology.

You can get adapters that turn a Memory Stick Duo into a normal size memory stick but thats still no good for your PSP.

With the psp the only option you have for memory is the Memory Stick Duo.

there are some alternatives but they are bulky. You can get a 4gb hard drive but that attaches to the back and is quite large.

You can get packs which allow you to use SD cards, Compact flash and other cards but due to the electronics needed to convert the signal they can be quite large (about the same size as the PSP itself) and costly, about $50-100.

The price of memory sticks is constantly falling and now can be picked up for a few bucks.

Just about every store that stocks SD cards etc will sell the adaptors.
