Trying to find a lost love. Tried all the usual internet searches; county records, reverse name, etc... Time to think outside the box. Any helpful resources would be greatly appreciated.

are you quite sure you want to?

last february somebody wanted me to show them how to set up an account on the 'friends reunited' website. i had never thought of joining the organisation myself, but since i was showing someone else i thought: 'what the heck'.

i put down my old school, my college, where i used to live. then i browsed through a list of people i used to know who i might have thought of getting in touch with.

while i was still thinking about it a girl from my secondary school contacted me.

i knew the girl quite well when we were about fourteen, but as we moved into our late teens she started hanging around older boys and we lost touch. i still had a few good memories of her and it was good to be in touch again.

sylvia asked me what i had done with my life. my life has been pretty boring - but that suits me: i am a naturally dull sort of person.

sylvia's life had been far more interesting. attempted rapes, dabbling in prostitution, different fathers for her two children - she sounded as if she had had all the excitement i had only ever read about.

i was very flattered that such an interesting woman wanted to talk to me.

but i was a bit worried when she told me the hotel room she was going to meet me in, and what we would do there.

i told sylvia i was very happy with my lifepartner, and maybe we could visit an art gallery together - or a bookstore.

sylvia began to bombard me with emails which flipped between offering me spectacular bribes for the use of my body, and threatening me with enormous penalties if i failed to deliver. she began mass-mailing my friends with details of my years of sexual perversions (nearly all of it made up, or borrowed from her own life).

while all this was going on someone hacked into my email account and tampered with its contents. i was fortunate that i back up my email regularly to both my hard disk and to cd - but having your email account tampered with is no laughing matter.

this is still going on. i corresponded with sylvia for at most twelve weeks - she has already stalked me for over a month.

she shows no signs of slowing down - but then i suspect sylvia would hardly have begun in the first place if she had anything more interesting to do with her life.

i think you should be very careful about contacting anyone you have been out of touch with for some time.

you might find they are no longer the person you thought they were.
