I believe that we have a second "brain" located in our solar plexus that governs our feelings- (gut reactions, you "broke" my heart etc.)

Research has proven that there really is a mid chest point that has the very same type of synaptic activity found in the human brain and THEY are calling it a "Second Brain"

I think that when this second brain is engaged it produces some sort of chemical that causes a build up of fluids in and around the mid chest. When we are further stimulated ( a sad or moving song, a picture or the sight of something or someone that you feel emotionally attached to, etc.,) some type of release happens and the stored chemical/liquid moves up from mid chest to the sinus cavity and exits out the eyes because our natural swallowing instinct keeps it from flowing out of our mouths. You will notice that we do get "a lump in our throats" when we get emotional. Where does the "lump" go and is it really an overactive swallow/choke/gag reflex?

In a poetic way, crying allows an opening of the "heart" or in my theory, of the second emotional brain.

Anyway- it certainly cleanses the system of the liquid fear/sadness/manic emotion that left inside of us might cause some damage.

EXPERIMENT- The next time you find your self welling up with an emotion ( happy, sad, mad, glad, scared etc.) Take a moment and "locate" where in your body you are really feeling this emotion emerging from.

Hi ..
Some people cry... some people don't cry..I think it has to do with the emotional being of each individual person.. Its like sad country music songs... these songs tend to reach our emotions better than other forms of music... emotions can be devastating to some people..They cry at the drop of a hat... same applies to crying when our feelings are hurt...Its like the person who has no other choices in life, in a given situation.... its to cry to show emotion.. and to relieve true inside feelings.... it may just be a relief valve... crying serves several purposes.... relieving anxiety, relieving frustration, and an outward appearance.. that has very strong psychological effects on everyone surrounding the crier... We, as humans, all have feelings... some people control their feelings better than others... No one likes to get their feelings hurt... thank goodness we have the ability to cry... nothing helps like a good cry. Its like washing the soul.... ;)

My regards!!;)

Sometime emotion gets so strong that crying is your bodies way of getting rid of the build up of pressure.

Whether it is happy, or sad.

I don't know, but it is something special that only people can do. Emotions are strong and sometimes tears are good for you.
