The same people who pay for everything on tv: The Sponsors.

If you see a product's name, it was supplied free of charge.

West Coast Customs probably does all of their work for free, and MTV may or may not buy the materials.

It probably costs about 10-30g's for a 30 sec commercial spot on the show, and remember, they get that EVERYtime the show airs, even when it's a rerun, and the car has been paid for completely.

Do a little research by going to pimpmyride.com. To get your car in the running for Pimp My Ride, you have to submit a form for why you think they should do your car, plus you have to submit $2.00. The money from all those people that submit there cars to be done, goes towards the cars they put on the show. Plus, the makers of many of the products seen on the show donate their products in return for advertising. On average, the "fix-up" 21 cars a season/year. Now think how many people out there are sendining in $2.00 for the chance to have their car done. Kind of like the lottery, you have to pay to play.

The same way that radio shows and most other tv shows get paid..... sponsors and advertisers. The more popular the show the more they charge for ad spots. The money goes to MTV and gets spread out depending on contracts.
