Yes.

The North is still controlled by Turkey, the South is the country of Cyprus. The current situation is very peaceful though and has been for many years so don't worry about it if you are thinking of going.

Unfortunately Cyprus is still divided. Hopefully with Cyprus entrance in the EU conditions will be created to remove Turkey's grip on the island. That way Cyprus can be a truly united, independent and democratic country for all its citizens.

I agree with the above comments, but I don't know about peaceful. They have been trying to unify since they divided, but Cyprus turned down the peace deal in 2004. Turkey, who controls the northern part (and is the only country that actually recognizes it as a separate country than Cyprus) is trying to enter the European Union and will likely have to resolve this issue soon.

I'm not sure if Greece will let you enter the country with a stamp from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. I'd check into that.
