I've looked and looked and can find no mention of sesame seeds being used to get rid of ants.

However, I've learned more about ants than I knew before!

Although ants eat lots of different things, two of the things many of them like are seeds and oil.

I think that, perhaps, people might use sesame seeds, which have quite a bit of oil, to attract ants, but poison the seeds to kill the entire nest, because they bring food back to their nest. Borax is often used to poison ants, but there are many other things that could work.

I can't guarantee that this is correct, but after all my reading, it's the only thing that makes sense.

Because of their ideal size, weight, shape and hard shell, they are perfect to throw at the annoying pests... a hit anywhere in their stupid lil noggins will kill them on the spot! Killing about 12 to 15 of them in this manner causes the others to flee, never to return...

It's an old Bohemian method discovered by Andresita Porkolova, while sitting in her kitchen one day with her last piece of a sesame seed bread... an ant walked by, stopped and made a rude gesture at poor Andresita. This insult from an insect was the final straw... she tossed a seed from her bread at the creature and hit it squarely between its antenae, killing it instantly! She told all the people in her village and they rejoiced, praising old Andresita. To expres their appreciation, the village people never let Andrsita be without a freshly baked loaf of sesame seed bread. The townspeople were never troubled by ants again to this day

It's true! Google it... ** hehehehe **

Ok I believe the sesame seeds may act like rice does with ants.
They eat it then look for water. When they drink the water the seed matter swells up inside of them and burst them open. Or so say my MoM lmao she told me this very long time ago before she died.

Seseme seeds resemble the "Ant Lion" a predator of the ants, ants are not particularly intelligent, they see the "shape and color" believe it to be something that can kill them and retreat. Nye
