Usually you will have symptoms such as cramping in your lower abdomen, but not necessarily. Alot of women have cramps, some dont. The only way to know if you start your period will be the blood in your undies! which is the sluffing of your endometrium lining. The white discharge is somewhat normal as long as it is clear to whiteish and does not have a fowl smell. Some STDs can cause a discharge. If you cant talk to your mom about any problems or concerns seek other avenues of info. Good Luck! Kareena

You know when it is coming because you will get bloated, and have pains in your stomach and lower back (cramps). You need to start a personal calendar and write down when it starts and when it ends. After a few months you can start calculating how long your period last and about when it should start. That way you know what is normal and not normal for your body. The white stuff, don't worry about it. That is normal. However you should talk to a older woman (doctor, counselor, or mom) to help you explain this much better. good luck! Torresshs04@yahoo.com

Your first period is a good thing. It's a sign that you're not a little kid anymore, but getting yours for the first time can be scary when you're not sure what to expect. You've probably got a lot of questions. As you become a women your body is maturing. Evolving. Preparing for the next stage of life. You're transforming from a girl to a woman. Can you feel it? The more you know about how your body works, the more comfortable you'll be with these changes. Knowledge is power and that's a great feeling to have. To help you gain knowledge, I have posted this website so please check it out.
